Sucden Italia was created in September 2013.

Since the reform of the sugar market regime, the EU has become a net importer of sugar. Within the EU, Italy is the largest importer, importing over 1,5 million tons per year, whereby most imports into Italy are in the form of refined sugar purchased from EU producers.

In this context, the Sucres et Denrées Group has created a subsidiary in Italy, using its international reputation and sourcing capacities to provide sugar to the Italian market.

Such strategic location will also enable the Group to strengthen its activities of sugar distribution in the EU, which will complement its current distribution network in Russia and in the Americas.
